Acknowledgments
Over 30,000 images were digitised during 2004-2006 using a grant from Big Lottery Fund as part of Their Past Your Future. This UK-wide project sought to inspire people of all ages to truly discover the Second World War, how it shaped and altered the world's course, and why it is relevant now and in the future.

This site and the database it contains have been created by the efforts of many people. The museum's partners are acknowledged here. The contributions of the following members of the Imperial War Museum staff were particularly important in the completion of this project:

Pauline Allwright, Dawn Baker, Dil Bannerjee, Richard Bayford, Glyn Biesty, Jan Bourne, Margaret Brooks, John Bullen, Jane Carmichael, Terry Charman, Shirley Collier, Andrew Colquhoun, Diana Condell, Paul Cornish, Matthew Crilly, Ted Dearberg, John Delaney, Philip Dutton, Jane Fish, Martin Garnett, Rose Gerrard, Richard Golland, Toby Haggith, Bryn Hammond, John Hunnex, Christopher Hunt, Alan Jeffreys, John Kerr, Brad King, Jo Lancaster, Robert Marchand, Amanda Mason, Roger McAlister, Richard McDonough, Gordon McLeod, Mike Moody, Allan Morrow, Kathleen Palmer, David Penn, Neil Pilfold, Chris Plant, Anthony Richards, Jeremy Richards, Simon Robbins, Hilary Roberts, Paul Sargent, Sukhbir Singh, Christine Smith, Greg Smith, Roger Smither, Nigel Steel, Ruth Stevens, John Stopford-Pickering, Roderick Suddaby, Roger Tolson, Darren van den Bogaard, Alan Wakefield, Stephen Walton, Angela Weight, Darius Wheel, Jenny Wood, Christopher Wroath, Neil Young.
