Summary of terms
Browser: You are using a browser to look at this page. They are used to
locate and display web pages from the internet. The most popular ones are
Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
IP (Internet Protocol): All networks connected to the internet use IP,
the technical standard which allows data to be transmitted between two
devices. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) is
makes sure messages get from one host to another.
IP address: If you are connected to the Internet you have an IP
address, which looks something like this: 123.456.78.9
Web Server: Where a website is stored, and where its pages are
delivered to your computer.
